We are very grateful for the expertise, support and time given by members of Enfield SACRE, the Agreed Syllabus Conference and all RE stakeholders, to ensure that the new syllabus promotes respect, understanding and tolerance of the many different faiths and beliefs in Enfield, nationally and globally. Learning is enriched and enhanced in the celebrations of the important festivals of the different faiths through fantastic whole school assemblies and visits to places of worship by each year group.

The provision and quality of RE & CW is monitored by the Enfield SACRE, which also provides advice and support to schools. One of our duties is to write an Agreed Syllabus (last updated in 2017) for schools outlining the curriculum for RE; this is supported by a scheme of work for Primary Schools consisting of 33 units set across three terms.
This Agreed Syllabus has four purposes, which mirror those of the National Curriculum. 1. To establish an entitlement.The Agreed Syllabus sets out the entitlement to learning in religious education for all pupils in community schools, irrespective of social background, culture, race, religion, gender, differences in ability and disabilities. Combined with ongoing implementation training and resources, a new syllabus offers the potential to raise achievement in RE in all local schools.
